HTML mode rules.

On the Advanced plan you can switch a template to HTML for full design control. A few rules keep your emails safe to send.

The rules

  • Variables use Shopify Liquid syntax.
  • Scripts are stripped when you save, and a notice tells you.
  • The unsubscribe tag is mandatory. Save stays blocked until it is in the template.
  • CSS is inlined automatically.
  • Switching from the form editor to HTML is one-way. You are warned before the switch.

Plans

The HTML editor and translations are part of Advanced. On other plans they are shown locked with "Advanced".

If your store moves down from Advanced, HTML templates and translations are kept and still sent to customers already inside sequences, but they are locked for editing.

Translations

On Advanced, add a language tab per template. Customers get their own language, and missing languages fall back to the store's default language. Urdu shows right to left.
